Mayor Coleman to speak at Custom House grand opening and rededication
Historic building in Saint Paul’s Lowertown neighborhood is brought back to life with hotel, residences and commercial space
SAINT PAUL – Mayor Chris Coleman will be cutting the ribbon on Custom House at its grand opening and building rededication this Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Built to be Saint Paul’s new federal building, it was originally dedicated on Friday, September 21, 1934, exactly 82 years ago. Located in Saint Paul’s Lowertown neighborhood, Custom House is now home to 202 luxury apartments, a Hyatt Place Hotel, Acorn Mini Storage and additional commercial space that will soon include a street-level restaurant.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 21, 2016, 4:00 p.m. (Check-in begins at 3:30 p.m.)
WHERE: Custom House, 180 E Kellogg Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55101 – ceremony will be held on the corner of Kellogg and Jackson, rain location will be the main lobby.
This event will include a short program, ribbon cutting and reception, as well as an historic photo recreation from the building’s original dedication in 1934.
