FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TUESDAY, APRIL 19, 2016
The Saint Paul Police Department is inviting the public to a cookout.
The first Safe Summer Nights barbecue of the year will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in Indian Mounds Park, 10 Mounds Blvd., Saint Paul (near the intersection of Earl Street and Mounds Boulevard).
The free, public event will feature food, activities for children and ample opportunities for attendees to meet Saint Paul police officers.
The department will bring its horse, K9 and motorcycle units to the cookout—and the BearCat vehicle, which is always popular with kids, will be there, too.
Food for the event is donated by the Safe Summer Nights organization.
The Safe Summer Nights program is designed to provide opportunities for police officers to become acquainted with residents of the neighborhoods they serve over a meal rather than during times of trouble.
