Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to host job fair to connect job seekers with employers and employment resources
Professional photographer on hand to take free profile pictures
Saint Paul, MN - A job fair aimed at connecting teens and adults with employers and employment resources will be held at Oxford Community Center on Saturday, February 27 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. In addition to meeting with potential employers, attendees can also participate in mock interviews, resume building, and have their photo taken by a professional photographer for use on social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn.
“This job fair is about much more than connecting job seekers with potential employment opportunities,” said Mike Hahm, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Director. “We want attendees to not only find a job with us or one of our partners, but also to be better prepared for future employment opportunities. Knowing that more than half of all employers look at applicants social media profiles prior to extending an employment offer, we are including an opportunity at the job fair to receive a free professional digital photo for use on social media sites.”
Among employers offering positions at the job fair are Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, the YMCA, the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Children’s Museum. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and those who already have resumes should bring several copies to share with employers.
The Oxford Community Center, which encompasses Jimmy Lee Recreation Center and Great River Water Park, is located at 270 N Lexington Pkwy in Saint Paul.
