Irish Fair

Irish Fair of Minnesota

The Irish Fair of Minnesota will take place Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9 at Harriet Island Regional Park. The unique once a year celebration offers attendees an opportunity to celebrate authentic Irish heritage through a multitude of activities such as: step dance, traditional group dance, gaelic sports, Celtic marketplace, cultural displays, native Irish dogs, traditional tea room, Irish food and drink as well as several local and international bands.

Environmental Programs

Mammal Survey

Awesnap! Mammal Survey & Photography Opportunity

Participate in one or two days of the mammal survey, learn about the lives of urban mammals, and pick up nature photography tips. We will capture, identify, and photograph mammals with the help of a U of M mammal researcher Carmen Martin and nature photographer Gordon Dietzman. This will be a great opportunity to brush up on your photography skills while contributing to science.

Bumble Bee Survey

Bumblebee Survey

Did you know that several threatened and declining bumblebee species live in the Twin Cities? Learn about these fascinating creatures while helping scientists study their populations. Bee biologists Elaine Evans and Joel Gardner from the U of MN Wild Bee Squad are responsible for identifying all the bumble bees.

National Night Out Events

National Night Out is designed to heighten awareness to neighborhood crime, generate support for and participation in anti-crime programs and strengthen police and community partnerships. Stop by one of these fun neighborhood events on Tuesday, August 4. National Night Out is free and open to all and no prior registration is necessary.

National Night Out

National Night Out at Hayden Heights

Join us for a fun night of activities that include a giant obstacle course, wacky competition, flag football, resource information and visiting with neighbors.
