Saint Paul Regional Water issues annual water quality report

 

June 25, 2015. Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) has released its 2015 Water Quality Report to residents and medical facilities located throughout its service area.

“We are pleased to report that, once again, SPRWS is in full compliance with all state and federal requirements for drinking water quality,” says Steve Schneider, general manager of SPRWS.

Annual publication of the consumer confidence report is required of public water systems by the federal Environmental Protection Agency; its accuracy is monitored by the Minnesota Department of Health. The utility’s customers received notice of the report along with bills issued April through June. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, the report is available electronically via our website. Paper copies are available upon request.

The report contains information about the sources of SPRWS water, as well as methods of water treatment and distribution. It also provides detailed information about contaminants and other substances found in the treated water through regular testing done by SPRWS and the Health Department.

The drinking water covered in this report is provided by SPRWS to the residents of Saint Paul, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Maplewood, Mendota Heights, and West St. Paul. The report also was distributed to area community clinics, hospitals, and other social service organizations that come into contact with vulnerable populations (for example, people with compromised immune systems).

Because residents in multiple dwellings typically do not pay their water bills directly, they likely will not receive notice of the report. SPRWS encourages those customers and any other interested persons or organizations to call SPRWS Customer Service at 651-266-6350 for copies of the report or to go online at www.stpaul.gov/waterquality.
