Violent Offenders Task Force Meth Investigation
On October 23rd the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force concluded an investigation into methamphetamine sales in the St. Cloud Metro area.
The task force conducted a search warrant at 23692 69th Ave, St. Augusta related to this investigation. Investigators located approximately 6 pounds of methamphetamine, $3,470 in cash, and a handgun reported stolen from Wright County. The value of the 6 pounds of methamphetamine is estimated at $125,000 wholesale and approximately $260,000 street value. The cash is subject to forfeiture proceedings.
Arrested at the scene was a resident of the home identified as Joseph McMahon, age 34, of the St. Cloud area. McMahon faces numerous charges to include, possession of stolen property, 1st Degree possession of controlled substance, and felon in possession of a firearm. McMahon was transported to the Stearns County jail for booking and is awaiting his charges. Other family members were home at the time of the warrant but are not subject to any criminal charges.
A second search warrant related to this investigation was conducted at 215 6th St NE, St. Cloud. Home at the time was resident Alyssa Jarecki, age 25, of St. Cloud. Investigators located approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine, 6 grams of Molly, 125 grams of marijuana, $4,150 in cash, and another stolen handgun out of Sauk Rapids. The estimated street value of this methamphetamine is $38,000. The cash is subject to forfeiture proceedings.
Jarecki was found to have outstanding warrants and was transported to the Benton County jail. She is also expected to be charged with 1st degree possession of controlled substance, 5th degree possession of controlled substance and possession of stolen property.
The task force was assisted by the Stearns-Benton County Sheriff SERT team, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the Cold Spring Police K-9 unit, the St. Cloud Police Department, the St. Cloud Police Department K-9 unit and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The Task Force is comprised of officers from the Sartell, Little Falls, and St. Cloud Police Departments, along with deputies from Stearns, Benton, Todd, Morrison, and Sherburne Counties.
