Single Vehicle Crash

On May 19th, 2025, at approximately 3:51 p.m., the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a crash with injuries near the address of 47537 County Road 27, in North Fork Township. This location is approximately 3 miles north of the City of Brooten. Initial reports were that a vehicle had gone into the ditch and everyone in the car was injured.

Upon arrival on scene, Stearns County Deputies learned that a 2008 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on County Road 27 when it entered the south ditch. The vehicle was being operated by Dawn Blume, 66, of Belgrade. Investigation revealed that after the vehicle entered the ditch, the driver intended to use the brake pedal but accidentally hit the accelerator. The vehicle then struck a field approach and became airborne before coming to rest. Jeremiah Blume, 11, of Belgrade was a passenger in the vehicle. Both occupants were transported to the Glacial Ridge Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Belgrade/Brooten Police Department, Brooten Fire Department, and Brooten Ambulance.
