St. Augusta Accident
On October 12, 2024, at approximately 7:37 P.M., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting an accident at 4108 200th Str. in the city of St. Augusta. This is the location of the annual Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride. The initial caller reported that a young male had been injured when he was run over by a trolley wagon being pulled by a tractor. Staff and bystanders, including an off-duty police officer and an off-duty medic, immediately started to render aid. A Stearns County Deputy and several Explorers were at the event and responded to the call. The St. Augusta Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance service also responded to the call. Lifesaving efforts continued at the scene but were ultimately unsuccessful and Alexander Mick, 13, of Rice, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident is being investigated by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
