Removal of Temporary Emergency No Wake

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office issued a temporary emergency no wake for all of North Browns Lake effective on August 15, 2024.  A visual review of the lake occurred on 8-23-24.  The decision was made after this review to remove the emergency no wake for this body of water. While water levels remain high, the conditions that necessitated the no wake have lessened over the past eight days.  At this time, we would request and remind boaters on all lakes in Stearns County to be mindful of water levels and to take the necessary steps to mitigate their boats wake impact on shorelines and equipment still in the water.  Be a good neighbor and own your wake.
