Krain Township Building Fire
On January 2, 2022, at approximately 8:49 p.m., the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a building fire at 40504 245th Ave in Krain Township. The owner, identified as Jerry Martin Breth, 53, of Albany, reported that a smaller storage building on the property had caught fire. The building was used to store farming equipment and diesel fuel. The fire is believed to have started in or around the chimney for the building. Freeport Fire and Albany Fire were able to extinguish the fire and no injuries were reported. The owner was able to remove several pieces of equipment before the fire spread to far, minimizing the damage. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Freeport Fire and Rescue, Albany Fire and Rescue, and Melrose Ambulance responded to the scene.
