Felony Arrest in LeSauk Township Shooting
On June 3, 2021, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant in rural Morrison County at 17589 Ranch Road in Leigh Township in relation to a shooting that occurred in LeSauk Township in Stearns County on May 25, 2021. In connection with that shooting a warrant had been issued for the arrest of Trenell Earl Rogers, 34, of St. Cloud, for 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Investigators working in conjunction with the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office learned that Rogers was at an address in rural Morrison County in the early morning hours of June 3, 2021. Investigators prepared a search warrant for the address in Morrison County and executed the warrant at approximately 11:00 a.m. Rogers was located at the address and was arrested. Rogers was transported to the Stearns County Jail and was held on the charges mentioned above.
Chad David Wenz, 38, of New London was arrested for a 5th degree-controlled substance crime and was transported to the Morrison County Jail. Wenz was present during the search warrant and was in possession of a suspected narcotic.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the initial investigation by the Sartell Police Department, St. Cloud Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Waite Park Police Department and the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force (CM-VOTF). Stearns County was assisted on the search warrant by the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and Morrison County SWAT Team, members of CM-VOTF, the Pierz Police Department and Pierz Fire and Rescue.
