Barn Fire

Two barns burn Saturday evening.

On June 6th, 2020 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Stearns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a barn fire in the 16000 block of 66th Avenue in Maine Prairie Township. This is several miles northeast of the city of Kimball.

Upon arrival, two barns were on fire. One barn was already burnt to the ground and the second one was fully engulfed in flames.

Benjamin Fox, 47, of South Haven, stated he was attempting to burn one of the barns due to it being old and unsafe when the second barn caught fire as a result of the heat.

Mr. Fox had a burning permit for a 20’ by 20’ brush pile, but not for the structures. He was issued a citation for burning prohibited materials.

Kimball and South Haven Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire.

No one was injured.
