Welcome Jax and Eddie
The SCSO is pleased to introduce two new K-9 teams: Deputy Adam Johnson with Jax and Deputy Matt Mayers with Eddie. Jax and Eddie are Certified Narcotic
Detector Dogs. Their breed is Shepherd Belgian Malinois and they came
from Czechoslovakia. Both dogs are between 1 and 2 years old, and will probably have a 6-9 year service life.
For several years now, Stearns County's K-9 unit has had Bloodhound teams, used for
tracking missing persons and suspects. Currently Aspen is
partnered with Deputy Eric Schultz and Freddie with Laura McLaughlin.
Because illegal drug activity continues to be a problem in the area, there is a need for narcotic detector dogs as well. Jax and Eddie have already been responsible for
several drug seizures and arrests.
 Thank You!
The K-9 program is fully supported by donations from generous citizens
and businesses. All expenses, including veterinary service, food,
supplies and continuing education, are covered by donations to the
Stearns County K-9 Fund.
If you'd like to help, donations to support the Sheriff’s K-9 Fund can be mailed to:
Stearns County Sheriff’s K-9 Fund PO Box 217 St. Cloud, MN 56302
For questions regarding donating, please contact Lt. Robert Dickhaus at 320-259-3706.
