Brian Schoenborn, a real estate developer and partner at Stinson Leonard Street, will link Fifth Avenue’s past to a possible future during Breakfast Club on Wednesday, August 12, at the Stearns History Museum. The program begins at 9 a.m.
The bank building, according to the St. Cloud Journal-Press in 1889, “will be the most imposing and costly business structure in the city.” At the time, Fifth Avenue bubbled with activity as banks, hotels, shops and cultural venues attracted people downtown.
Schoenborn will discuss how this relates to his First National Bank restoration project among others that are presently in progress. He hopes the blending of history and business will “make sure that there’s another 100 to 150 years of economic activity in that building” and throughout downtown.
The Breakfast Club program is free for Stearns History Museum members, $7 for nonmembers. Refreshments are served. The Museum is located at 235 South 33rd Avenue in St. Cloud.
