Mayor Alan Perry highlighted key 2025 projects, policy accomplishments, and the Town’s vision for the future at the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's annual State of the Region event on Oct. 15.
In his video remarks, Mayor Perry reflected on Hilton Head Island’s legacy of stewardship and collaboration while outlining ongoing efforts to preserve the Island’s unique character and quality of life.
Over the past year, the Town completed major infrastructure and safety improvements, launched its largest-ever beach renourishment project, and adopted an environmentally responsible pest management policy. Additionally, more than 26 acres of land were acquired in the Mitchelville historic neighborhood to protect it from development through the Beaufort County Greenspace Tax Program. The Town also maintained its AAA bond rating with all three national agencies, one of only two South Carolina municipalities to hold this distinction.
Looking ahead, Mayor Perry emphasized the Town’s Strategic Action Plan, focusing on stormwater improvements, workforce housing, economic growth, and continued investment in community spaces to ensure a sustainable and thriving Town for generations to come.
