Your insights are vital in shaping the future of the areas outside Hilton Head Island’s master-planned communities: Hilton Head Plantation, Palmetto Hall, Port Royal, Indigo Run, Spanish Wells, Wexford, Long Cove Club, Palmetto Dunes, Leamington, Shipyard, and Sea Pines.
If you live or work outside of these communities and couldn’t attend the meetings, there’s still time to make your voice heard! Our online community surveys provide a convenient platform to share your thoughts on the following districts:

- Forest Beach District
- Chaplin District
Your feedback is essential in guiding infrastructure investments, zoning regulations, land use decisions, and future community programs and policies. Information about each district is available on the district plans page of our website.
Take just 10 minutes to help shape your neighborhood’s future. Every voice matters! Surveys are open through April 30, 2025.

At its March 4, 2025 regular meeting, the Town Council voted to amend an ordinance related to noise control and construction. Here’s what is included and it impacts you:
- Commercial construction, repair work and landscaping activities are now limited to 7 am to 7 pm and those activities are prohibited on Sundays, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
- An intent to align with the planned urban developments (PUD) and property owners’ associations (POA) on the island for a more standardized schedule of noise limits across the Town.
- An intent to minimize nighttime and early morning disturbances, thus preserving the general welfare of the overall island community.
Non-commercial yard work is unchanged by these amendments and remains allowed daily, including Sundays and observed holidays, from 7 am to 10 pm. The amendment is not intended to repeal or interfere with any private restrictions; if a private PUD or POA has stricter requirements, those will supersede any Town requirements.

Don’t forget to e-mail the digital copy of your plans to CDIC@hiltonheadislandsc.gov when you turn in your application. The file should be a single PDF saved in the horizontal or landscape position. The file must be named “PLANS - # Street Suffix.” For example “PLANS – 1 Town Center Court”.
When e-mailing to CDIC, it is extremely helpful if you use the subject line to help us quickly triage your e-mail. Your subject line should include your permit number and address if you already have received a permit for that property

Helpful tips on how to use our portal to manage your projects

-
Sorting and Filtering Permits
- In the "My Permits" section, the most recently accessed project—whether by Town staff or through the portal—appears at the top.
- If a recent inspection request was made or a file was added to a permit, that permit will move to the top of your list.
- You can sort each column by double-clicking the column header.
- Use the funnel icon to filter columns, such as selecting "Issued" under Status to view only issued permits.
-
Interacting with the CSS Page

How long have you been on the island and what brought you here? It has always been a goal to move to Hilton Head. I lived in the suburbs of Chicago my whole life, and like so many people’s story, vacationed in Hilton Head every year. I moved down 4 ½ years ago. I never want to see another flake of snow again!
What are your favorite things to do on your days off? I love to play golf and pickleball, ride my bike and spend time on the beach.
What is the best thing about Hilton Head Island? The beauty of the island and of course, the beach. I love live music and there are so many places on the island to catch some good bands.
Fun fact: Three celebrities I’ve met: Mike Ditka, Oprah and Captain Stubing!
