Our two-day strategic planning workshop, held on February 26-27 at the Westin Resort, laid the foundation for exciting new initiatives that will drive continuous improvements in our community. During the sessions, Town Council members reviewed the progress made on key priorities from the 2023-2025 Strategic Action Plan and refined their focus on future priorities for Hilton Head Island.
If you missed the in-person discussions, you can still catch up! Visit the Town of Hilton Head Island - YouTube page to watch broadcasts of the workshop. Stay tuned — we’ll share more details in the days ahead as our Town leaders work to finalize and adopt the new priorities.

Thank you to all the residents who participated in our recent community meetings for the Districts Planning Project! Your insights are invaluable in shaping plans for the areas of the island that are not part of Hilton Head Island’s master-planned communities (Hilton Head Plantation, Palmetto Hall, Port Royal, Indigo Run, Spanish Wells, Wexford, Long Cove Club, Palmetto Dunes, Leamington, Shipyard, and Sea Pines).
If you live or work outside these communities and couldn’t attend our district meetings, there’s still time to make your voice heard! Our online surveys offer a convenient way to share your thoughts. Your feedback will help guide infrastructure investments, zoning regulations, land use decisions, and future community programs and policies.
Take just 10 minutes to help shape the future of your neighborhood. Every voice matters—let’s build a better community together!

Did you know that environmental sustainability is one of the Town of Hilton Head Island's core values? This key item has helped the Town to develop a more resilient approach to future policies and planning. With spring approaching, the public can play a role in preserving the Island's future biodiversity by planting native species.
Fetterbush (Lyonia) this native island plant is known for its masses of evergreen, deep pink, and white honey-scented flowers. This pant is great for pollinators and can be used for an aesthetically pleasing landscape.
Additional plants include:
- Saw palms
- Yaupon holly
- Wax myrtle
