We had an outstanding turnout at our recent "Money Talks" seminar, a fantastic opportunity for small businesses to connect with finance experts and gain practical insights into day-to-day business operations. Participants received valuable guidance on resource allocation, task management, and the use of information technology.
Cohosted by the Gullah Geechee Historic Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation and TD Bank, these workshops are specifically designed to provide business advice and strategic insights.
We encourage business owners to attend the remaining sessions, whether it’s all of them or just those that suit their specific needs. Best of all, these sessions are free to attend.
The next seminar, focusing on unlocking access to capital, will take place on Wednesday, September 25, at 5 p.m. at the Island Recreation Center, 20 Wilborn Road. For more information, please call (843) 341-3097.

"Where were you when the world stopped turning..."
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, our community gathered at the Veterans Memorial at Shelter Cove for our annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Program participants included Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue Chief Chris Blankenship, Battalion Chief Colin Fanning, Mayor Alan Perry, and Hilton Head Island Presbyterian Church Pastor Bill McCutchen.
The Town was honored to have Kevin Stout, a retired Fire Marshal, as the guest speaker. He shared unique insight and information leading up to, during, and the events following the tragic attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The weight of his words paired with the solemn tolling of the bell and moments of silence made for a powerful remembrance.
