Hank Bellamy’s connection to Hilton Head Island goes back several decades. And, his activities as an artist during those decades would be enough to consider him for Artist of the Month, he worked skillfully in a variety of mediums, but his recent works connect his love for our Lowcountry environment with found objects and elevate his artistic voice in a whole new way. In 2018, Hank and his wife Sarah returned to the Lowcountry from having lived away for a few years. Their new home in HHP was a short walk from the beach at Port Royal Sound. Over time, Hank began to create “installations” along the beach – whimsical, thoughtful, and intended to help encourage reflection by all who encountered them.
