What's Happening with the Parks + Recreation Master Plan
|

|
Last Week
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Jarvis Creek Park last week for our first Open Park Day. We got some great feedback from community members about our parks and recreation recommendations and action items using dot voting and comment cards. We saw feedback in favor of a general use turf field for community pick up games and a pickleball facility at Chaplin Community Park, strong support for the consolidation of baseball/softball facilities at Crossings Park with expanded community amenities, and interest in multi-use pathways, an event pavilion, and multi-use sports fields at Mid Island Tract.
This Week
Open Park Day has been RESCHEDULED!
Due to inclement weather, the Open Park Day event scheduled for this Thursday, November 12 at Shelter Cove Community Park has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 19 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Shelter Cove Community Park. There will be no Parks + Recreation Master Plan events this week.
Coming Up

Three Ways to Participate
All three types of opportunity to participate will cover similar information and gather input from you. Join the conversation for one or all of them!
1. Parks + Recreation Survey
We are hosting an Open Town Hall survey with questions about your preferences for our parks and recreation system based on the Recommendations and Actions Items in Our Plan. There are also questions about facility and amenity programming for the three parks.
2. Virtual Town Hall Meetings
The Virtual Town Hall meetings are over for this round of Parks + Recreation. You can check out the meetings in the video archive of the Town's Public Meetings Facebook Page. Stay tuned for more opportunities to engage with the Town through this medium!
3. Open Park Days
Meet us outside to talk about your ideas for our parks at one of our Open Park Days. Staff will be set up with maps and comment cards to hear from you. Social distancing will be enforced.
