Parking

Parking is available at the Free Beach Lot at Coligny Beach Park. Breeze shuttles will be on site to shuttle participants with their lanterns down to the parade start at Alder Lane and then at the end of the parade we will all end back at the parking. 

Overflow parking will be provided at the USCB Campus at 1 Sand Shark Drive, HHI, SC 29928. The Breeze shuttle will transport people to the start of the parade from USCB and provide a shuttle back from the Coligny Beach Park trolley stop until 10 PM. 

NOTE: There is NO PARKING @ The Beach House Resort/Tiki Hut unless you are sleeping there in a hotel room that you have booked. 

PRO TIP: Uber/Lyft & Carpooling are HIGHLY Recommended!

Parade Day FAQs - Participants

1. Who can walk in the parade? 

A: Anyone with a lantern is invited to walk in the parade! If your child has made a lantern, one parent may walk with them without a lantern but we encourage parents to get creative, too!

2. When should I arrive?

A: Line Up begins at the Alder Lane Beach Access at 6:15 PM. Shuttles will begin running        from Coligny Beach Parking & USCB @ 6 PM.

3. What should I do when I arrive?

     A: After you have parked and shuttled down to the Adler Lane Beach Access, stop at the check-in table set up at the start of the access near the street. The person at the table will give you instructions on where to go in the line-up. 

4. What time does the parade start? 

        A: We will begin parading by 7 PM sharp. 

4. How long is the parade? 

      A: The parade is 0.75 miles long, parading north from Alder Lane Beach Access on South Forest Beach up to Coligny Beach Park. The walk is expected to take about 30 mins and the entirety of the parade will depend on how many participants come out. 

6. What time do the trolleys stop? 

     A: The parade ends back at Coligny, so people parked at Coligny Beach parking can walk out directly to their cars. 1 Trolley will remain running from the Coligny Beach Park trolley stop and shuttle people back to USCB until 10 PM. 

7. What to wear? 

A. Comfortable and secure shoes. We will be parading through soft sand due to the tide schedule, so be sure to wear shoes that will stay attached to your feet and that you can walk 0.8 miles in comfortably through soft sand. Also, it is expected to be in the low 50's so wear a sweatshirt. The parade will not be stopped by somewhat chilly temps!

8. Where is the parade happening? 

A: The parade will take place on South Forest Beach parading up the beach to the Tiki Hut for the after party featuring local band Pretty Darn. If you don't want to stay for the after party, you can exit at the Coligny Beach Park exit to return to the parking lots. The parade ends right where you are parked. If you parked at USCB, the trolley will be waiting at the Coligny Beach Park. 

9.  Is the event pet friendly? 

A: No, pets are not permitted at the event. 

PRO TIP 1: Comfortable & secure shoes are the key. We will be parading through soft sand, be prepared for the stroll.

PRO TIP 2: Uber/Lyft will drop you right off at the parade starting point (Alder Lane) and will pick you up at the end (either Coligny Beach Park or the After Party @ the Tiki Hut).

Parade Day FAQs - Spectators

1. Can we just watch?
   A: Yes, spectators are welcome. The route is from Alder Lane to Coligny Beach Park, so just find a spot along the route and check it out. Be sure to adhere to all standard beach rules and regulations and listen to our volunteer managers along the way, please.
   
   
2. Where is the best place to watch/how can I watch the parade? 
   A: We would recommend entering the beach at Coligny Beach Park and then walking south on the beach until you find that special spot to view the parade.
    
3. When should I arrive?
   A:  Shuttles will begin running from Coligny Beach Parking & USCB @ 6 PM. Or come down early & have dinner @ Coligny Plaza. You can stay parked at Coligny Plaza and then walk over to watch the parade. 
   
   
4. What time does the parade start?

PRO TIP: Come down before the parade & grab dinner or a drink @ Coligny Plaza. You can then stay parked @ Coligny Plaza and walk over to Coligny Beach Park to access the beach and watch the parade.
