Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Announces Schedule for Upcoming Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program


The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has announced the upcoming schedule for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.

 

The program provides training to Beaufort County residents to increase self-sufficiency in a disaster. Participants learn skills that enable them to provide emergency assistance to their families and neighbors.


CERT classes are free of charge.  The April training will be held at the Technical College of the Lowcountry campus in Beaufort, 921 Ribaut Road, Building 6, Room 108.

 

The course is taught in four class sessions from 6-9 p.m. and one Saturday exercise class from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on the following dates:


  • Tuesday, April 4th  - Personal Preparedness and Hazard Mitigation
  • Thursday, April 6th  - Disaster Medical I
  • Tuesday, April 11th  - Disaster Psychology/Terrorism Response
  • Thursday, April 13th  – Disaster Medical II / CERT Organization
  • Saturday, April 15th  - Fire Suppression /Disaster Search Techniques & Exercise
