Request for Information (RFI): Legacy Square Activation The City is seeking community partners, creatives, and organizers interested in activating Legacy Square in downtown Renton with events, programming, and ideas that invite people to gather and see themselves in the space throughout 2026.
Request for Qualifications (RFQ): Legacy Square Public Art Artists are invited to submit qualifications for a site-responsive artwork at Legacy Square. This opportunity will result in a permanent public art installation that reflects Renton’s identity and sense of place.
Request for Proposals (RFP): Renton Utility Box Wraps Local and regional artists are invited to submit original designs for vinyl wraps on utility boxes along S 7th Street. Selected artists will be commissioned to help transform everyday infrastructure into vibrant public art.
Beginning January 1, 2026, the annual gross revenue threshold for out of city businesses performing work in Renton will increase from $2,000 to $4,000. This change does not apply to businesses located within the city. Please refer to the FAQs for more information.
In addition, due to Senate Bill 5814, some business activities will shift from the service and other B&O tax classification to retailing. Impacted services include advertising, live presentations, information technology, custom website development, security services, temporary staffing, and software sales and customization. Your response helps the county understand the extent of damage to local businesses and is a critical step in determining whether disaster assistance may be available for affected properties and operations. Clear damage level definitions are provided within the survey to help you accurately report impacts.
Renton, Ready to Play!: The City of Renton has launched its “Renton, Ready to Play!” campaign to unite the community and local businesses in celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, drawing residents and visitors to participate in related activities and events. The initiative includes free community watch parties in downtown Renton and highlights local art, culture, and partnerships to showcase the city during this major international sporting event, as Seattle hosts six World Cup matches next summer. SCORE Greater Seattle 2026 Women’s Pitch Contest: The 2026 Women’s Pitch Contest invites women entrepreneurs from Washington, Alaska, and Northern Idaho to compete for business recognition and cash awards. Registration must be completed by the registration deadline of February 27, 2026.

The Renton Arts Commission’s Art Lounge is becoming a pop up experience, bringing its popular, hands on creative gatherings to new neighborhoods and spaces across Renton. Each event features an artist led activity where creatives and artist entrepreneurs can connect, learn new techniques, and create original work in a welcoming setting. Art Lounge will take place on January 21, February 18, March 18, and April 15, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 in the evening, with locations announced.
