As we close out the year, we’re excited to share several arts opportunities that invite reflection, creativity, and forward thinking. Whether you’re wrapping up 2025 or setting goals and exploring new possibilities for the year ahead, there are lots of ways to get involved.
On December 5, we celebrated the completion of Renton to the World, a new mural by artist Shogo Ota that connects Renton to the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The mural was completed in partnership with the City of Renton's Paint with Purpose Program and the Renton Downtown Partnership.
Renton Downtown Partnership received a Game Ready Activation Grant from the Seattle Metro Chamber, supporting local business area activations to help get ready for the 2026 World Cup.
Ota’s mural builds on his design of the official Seattle World Cup poster. The mural can be seen on Main Ave. S. between S. 3rd and S. 2nd.
Open Calls for Artists — Deadline: January 9
Request for Interest (RFI): Legacy Square Activation The City is seeking community partners, creatives, and organizers interested in activating Legacy Square in downtown Renton with events, programming, and ideas that invite people to gather and see themselves in the space throughout 2026.
Request for Qualifications (RFQ): Legacy Square Public Art Artists are invited to submit qualifications for a site-responsive artwork at Legacy Square. This opportunity will result in a permanent public art installation that reflects Renton’s identity and sense of place.
Request for Proposals (RFP): Renton Utility Box Wraps Local and regional artists are invited to submit original designs for vinyl wraps on utility boxes along S 7th Street. Selected artists will be commissioned to help transform everyday infrastructure into vibrant public art.
All three artist calls close on January 9.
