Fall is in full swing, and our arts community has been buzzing with creativity and connection. Here’s what’s happening in Renton this season:
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Olde Fashioned Halloween event in downtown Renton this past weekend! Despite the blustery weather, families and artists came together to celebrate creativity and spooky fun. The costumes were absolutely incredible—full of imagination, humor, and Halloween spirit. The stunning new mural by artist Tabitha Brown at Cugini Florists & Fine Gifts (413 S. 3rd St.) served as the backdrop for our Halloween event—and it’s full of surprises! Can you spot all 13 hidden images? Look for a duck, shark, seashell, two cats, ice cream, umbrella, train, boot, Seahawks logo, horse, airplane, and fish.
The Paint with Purpose program is making exciting progress! One mural is now complete, a second is nearly finished, and a third will begin in early November. A heartfelt thank-you to Rick, and his son Gary, from WOW Murals and to artist Yi Do for her work with Urban Artworks and the community paint day, as well as to our property partners at Safeway on Sunset and the Benson Bruins for helping bring these vibrant community-centered projects to life.
Call for Studios: Join Renton’s Holiday Studio Art Tour
Open your studio this holiday season and be part of the Holiday Studio Art Tour, a community engagement event celebrating Artist Sunday, running from Small Business Saturday through December 31.
Share your December studio hours and invite participants to explore all 24 participating studios. Your studio will be featured on event pages, social media, and newsletters, with all promotional materials provided.

Upcoming Renton Art Lounge: Where Creativity Connects!
Join us for November’s Art Lounge with Jen at Urban Sprouts, a meet-up designed for artists and creative entrepreneurs! Connect with fellow makers while creating personalized ornaments—perfect for gifting or keeping. All materials and tools are provided, so just bring your creativity and enthusiasm. The event takes place Wednesday, November 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Urban Sprouts, 724 S. 3rd St., Ste B. This is a free event for artists and creative entrepreneurs, but registration is required: Sign up here.

Celebrate Artist Sunday in Renton!
The Sunday after Thanksgiving is Artist Sunday®, a nationwide celebration encouraging shoppers to support local artists, creators, and performers. Participation is free, and it’s a great way to get on the national map, showcase your work, and connect with your community.

O Christmas Tea – One Night Only in Renton! Fans of Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and Dr. Seuss… grab your teacups! O Christmas Tea, a British comedy full of wordplay, physical comedy, and interactive fun, comes to Renton on November 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the IKEA Performing Arts Center. The Holiday Bazaar presented by the city's Parks and Recreation Department at the Renton Community Center is on November 21–22. This event showcases high-quality local artists, crafters, and vendors from Renton and the greater Puget Sound region, offering unique handmade and upcycled gifts. Admission is free, and it’s the perfect way to get a head start on holiday shopping. Learn more at rentonwa.gov.
The 2025 Encanto Arts Holiday Concierto comes to the Carco Theatre in Renton on Saturday, November 29. The concert starts at 6 p.m., followed by a festive cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception at 8 p.m. for sponsors and VIPs. Proceeds support Encanto Arts.
Founded by José Iñiguez, Encanto Arts has become a beloved holiday tradition, giving local artists and organizations a stage to shine, reach new audiences, and create meaningful connections.
