Tolling changes coming to SR 167
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is upgrading the toll system and changes are coming "as early as this fall". The SR 167 express toll lanes, if used, will charge you based on how far you drive. Here’s what’s to expect:
-
Locations: The SR 167 express toll lanes will run north from Puyallup to Renton and south from Renton to Pacific.
-
Carpooling: Get a Good to Go! Flex Pass set to HOV mode to avoid being charged a toll. When you qualify to carpool by having two or more people, flip the Flex Pass switch to HOV mode and it will signal to the toll equipment not to charge you.
-
Motorcycles: Riders will need a Motorcycle Pass to avoid being charged a toll.
-
No Pass: Travelers without a pass can still use the toll lanes, but you’ll be billed by mail.
-
Open a Good to Go! account: It'll save you $2 on every trip and offers automatic payments.
-
Get a Pass: The four kinds of Good To Go! passes allow you to pay the lowest toll rate. Carpoolers must have a Flex Pass set to HOV mode.

If you’ve driven along South Grady Way, you may have noticed the purple lights in front of Renton City Hall. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and these lights seek to bring awareness.
In addition to the lights, visitors to Renton City Hall will see a lobby display of silhouettes and stories of local individuals who were victims of domestic violence.

Prior to the October 6 council meeting, you’re invited to join the nonprofit Domestic Abuse Women's Network (DAWN), Renton Downtown Partnership, and Renton Chamber of Commerce for the Renton Purple Light Nights Solidarity Walk, meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Clock Tower (South Third Street and Burnett Avenue South).
Event partners and community members will walk to Renton City Hall before the proclamation at 7 p.m.
The Renton Police Department’s Domestic Violence Victim Advocate is also available Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment only and can be reached at 206-715-7324 or by email.
