Chalk Art 2025

Get ready for colorful creativity this weekend! Join us for the Chalk Art Contest at Renton River Days on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., brought to you by Allied Arts of Renton and the Renton Municipals Arts Commission. Watch talented artists bring the Summer Vibes theme to life on the sidewalks between Houser Way and the Community Center. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite — People’s Choice voting is open through the end of the festival on Sunday. Winners will be announced onsite at 4 p.m. Whether you’re creating or just enjoying the show, it’s a day of vibrant fun you won’t want to miss!

We’re taking a short summer break from Art Lounge this month, but we’ll be back in full swing on Tuesday, September 17 with artist Truc-Quan of Modern Meliora at IKEA Renton — mark your calendars!

Renton Artist Studio Tour

Join us for a one-of-a-kind art adventure on Saturday, August 16, as we celebrate Renton’s vibrant creative community during the inaugural Art in Motion: Renton Artist Studio Tour!

This self-guided event features 17 locations showcasing the work of more than 20 local artists in their "natural habitats" — from home studios to shared spaces and pop-up galleries.

  • Take part in interactive art experiences
  • Purchase original art directly from the artists

Whether you're an art collector, casual browser, or just looking for a fun and inspiring way to spend the day, this tour offers a unique glimpse into the heart of Renton’s arts scene.

Help Shape Public Art in Legacy Square!
Artists Sarah Robbins and Will Schlough are designing new artwork for Legacy Square in downtown Renton—and they want your input! Choose a theme from a list that includes dragons, diversity, nature, music, local businesses, and more. Then, pick a crest shape and sketch your idea for a team-inspired design. Teen Studio Art

Tomato Tomato Creative Space, with support from the Renton Municipal Arts Commission and Allied Arts of Renton, is hosting a free Teen Studio Arts program every Tuesday through August 19. Youth entering 7th grade in fall 2025 through high school seniors are welcome to drop in—no registration required. Snacks and drinks will be provided!


Luthers Table Co-Create August

Join local glass artist and Renton Art Oasis founder Cathy Gonzales for a hands-on fused glass sun catcher workshop on Wednesday, August 20, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Luther’s Table (419 S 2nd St., Suite 1). No experience is needed—Cathy will guide you step-by-step to create a vibrant sun catcher that brightens any space. The workshop is open to ages 10 and up (kids must be accompanied by an adult), with a suggested $5 donation and limited to 15 participants. Reserve your spot today here. Finished pieces will be fired and ready for pickup within a week.


Cozy Crafting Corner

Join the Renton LGBTQIA+ Community for Cozy Crafting on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Renton Library. Enjoy a relaxing evening of tea and crafts with new themes each month—materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own projects. Crafters of all identities are welcome! No registration is required.
