Announcing Paint with Purpose – A community mural program
The City of Renton and the Renton Municipal Arts Commission are excited to launch Paint with Purpose, a new program designed to transform public spaces affected by graffiti into vibrant works of art.
This initiative connects local artists with Renton property owners to install murals that reflect the creativity and spirit of our community—bringing color, pride, and purpose to high-impact areas throughout the city.
We are currently seeking:
- Artists interested in joining our mural roster. Apply here.
- Businesses and property owners within Renton city limits who have experienced graffiti or are located in high-risk areas. Apply here.

The Chalk Art Contest returns to Renton River Days!
The Renton Municipal Arts Commission is thrilled to partner with community organizations to bring back the Chalk Art Contest during the city's Renton River Days festival on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We’re currently looking for sponsors to help support the event and artists to bring the pavement to life!

Key to Change Spring Salon Fundraiser on May 4
Join Key to Change for an inspiring afternoon at the 8th annual Spring Salon Fundraiser, supporting world-class music education for underserved youth. Enjoy a catered reception, performances by talented student musicians, and remarks from Dr. Quinton Morris at the elegant Benaroya Hall. Join Look, Listen + Learn TV for P.A.L Day
A joyful celebration of friendship and creativity, P.A.L. Day honors the bond between beloved co-hosts Possum and Auntie Lena. Inspired by the show’s early learning segments, this free family event invites children, families, and friends to enjoy hands-on activities just like the ones seen on the show. It all takes place on Saturday, May 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Family First Community Center. 2025 Downtown Renton Art Walk on May 28 from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
Explore the vibrant art scene in Downtown Renton at the 2025 Art Walk, taking place on the 4th Wednesday of each month through June. This free event showcases new and emerging artists at local businesses, offering a fun, interactive way to experience the creativity of the community. The season kicks off with FAIRWOOD GONE WILD! – a pet-themed evening packed with fun for the whole family, including birdhouse painting, pet treat-making, a lion dance, and the always-popular Reptile Lady! Meet Deborah Holland
Catch acclaimed singer-songwriter Deborah Holland live on May 17 at 8 p.m. as part of the Drum Roll Concert Series, supported in part by a grant from the Renton Municipal Arts Commission. From fronting the innovative trio Animal Logic to having her songs featured on shows like CSI and My Name is Earl, Holland brings humor, heart, and sharp songwriting—highlighted in her latest album, I Made it This Far.
