The city's Recreation Division is excited to launch the highly anticipated Let’s Go Guide for May to August 2025. Whether you’re looking to dive into a new activity, freshen up on your fitness goals, or find engaging youth programs, this guide has something for everyone.
View the exciting programs now at rentonwa.gov/letsgo. Printed guides will be available the afternoon of Friday, April 25 at Renton City Hall, Renton Community Center, and Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center.
Registration begins next Wednesday, April 23 at 9 a.m. at rentonwa.gov/register.
Aquatics registration will open on Monday, June 2 at 1 p.m.
Businesses, property owners, and artists unite to beautify Renton
The city’s Community and Economic Development Department and Renton Municipal Arts Commission have kicked off the Paint with Purpose program. This initiative helps transform public spaces affected by graffiti into vibrant works of art.
Public agencies, businesses, and property owners within Renton city limits who have experienced graffiti or are in high-risk areas should apply here.
This program can’t be done without artists! Artists interested in joining the program can apply here. Artists will be selected based on artistic quality, community impact, experience, and alignment with the city's goals for beautification and graffiti reduction.
The 2025 recycling events are back!
The first of three 2025 Renton recycling events is one month away. On May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. drop off Styrofoam, scrap metal, and arts and craft items for collection at Renton Technical College (3000 NE Fourth St.) Parking Lot 3.
Scrap metal and large appliances:

Allowed: Auto parts, lawn chairs, water heaters, lawn mowers, bikes, iron, steel

Not Allowed: Items with oil and fluids still inside, TVs, computers, dishwashers, microwaves, car chassis

Allowed: Bagged packing peanuts, bubble wrap, clean white block Styrofoam

Not Allowed: Tape, labels
In partnership with Seattle ReCreative, donate used arts and craft items during the May 17 event.

Accepted: Sewing materials, fiber crafts, general supplies (scissors, glue, pipe cleaners, etc.), fine art supplies (paint, brushes, pastels, pencils, paper, etc.)

Not Accepted: Scraps, curtains, clothing, linens
Free gardening classes!
Level up your garden knowledge with these FREE gardening classes! These three classes, offered either virtually or in-person, are made possible through a partnership between the Public Works Department, Parks & Recreation Department, and Saving Water Partnership.
Spaces are limited so register early! Each class is from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Renton Farmers Market will be moving from Piazza Park one block east to Williams Avenue this year. This move is to make space for anticipated construction improvements at Piazza Park.
Find the market on Williams Avenue South between South Second and South Third Streets every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. from opening day, June 3, to September 30.

Senior Farmers Market Cards

Shred-A-Thon and Rx Drug Take Back
Join the Renton Police Department and bring your sensitive personal documents for secure on-site shredding and safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medications (Rx).
This year's shredding and Rx collection will take place April 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Renton Memorial Stadium, 405 Logan Ave. N.
Volunteers needed! Help with storm drain marking in Summerwind
The Public Works Department's Stormwater team needs your help! Come celebrate Arbor Day on April 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Summerwind neighborhood at the City of Renton Arbor Day Public Works Storm Drain Marking Project.
Neighborhood BBQ 2025 series kicks-off this month
The first Neighborhood BBQ will be Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sunset Neighborhood at the Highlands Park & Neighborhood Center, 800 Edmonds Ave. NE.
This event, hosted by the Renton Parks & Recreation's Neighborhood Program, is free, open to all residents, and will include food, music, and fun.

Join Startup425 and the city's Community & Economic Development Department for this live panel discussion on Thursday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bloom Studios, 204 Logan Ave. S.
Discussions will highlight Renton's unique arts and culture scene, practical ways businesses collaborate with local creatives, and strategies for using art in marketing and branding.
