Rainier Ave S Phase 4 Improvements Construction Update
Upcoming road closures
- Partial road closure at Nelson Place NW through Friday, April 11
- Partial road closure at NW 3rd Place through Thursday, April 10
- Local access will be maintained
- Temporary barricades will be set up for safe passage
- Full road closure at NW 3rd Place on Friday, April 11, for paving
- Business access will be maintained
- Paving work is subject to weather conditions
To maintain the Winter 2025 completion date, multiple active work zones can occur in a single day, which has an adverse effect on traffic. We will do our best to notify the public of any closures within 24 hours.
Sidewalk, curb, gutter, and driveway work continues
Crews are actively working on sidewalk, curb, gutter, driveway, and street improvements, including pouring and curing concrete. Please note that all concrete work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may adjust if inclement weather, such as cold or wet conditions, is forecasted.
We will make every effort to maintain access to driveways. If any closures are necessary for upgrades, property owners will be notified in advance. We appreciate your patience as our team continues to make progress on this project.
Temporary crosswalks and access points will be provided as needed until the full sidewalk installation is completed.
Please follow all pedestrian and traffic controls as work progresses.

Ongoing work along the corridor and project area
- Curb, gutter, and sidewalk work
- Grading and paving of driveways
- Drainage system installation
- Placement of lighting fixtures
- Installation of traffic signals
