Eastside Virtual Job Fair
Looking to hire local talent? Register for the free Eastside Virtual Job Fair on November 14th, from 10 am – 1 pm. This event, in partnership with Eastside Cities and WorkSource – Seattle/King County, offers access to a wide talent pool and the opportunity to review resumes and schedule meetings with job seekers before the event. You'll also have six months of access to candidate resumes after the fair.
Space is limited, so register by October 25th! After registering, a WorkSource representative will help you set up a virtual booth to attract the right candidates.

We invite you to participate by sharing any special offers or activities, so we can help drive more traffic to your storefronts.

2024 King County Executive's Small Business Awards
Congratulations to our amazing Renton businesses! In early October, Renton was proudly represented by four finalists in the King County Small Business Awards. A special shout-out to Rain City Catering for winning the Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year award! We also want to recognize The Brewmaster's Taproom, Hothi Equestrian Ranch, and Ohana Behavioral Health for being honored as finalists in their respective categories.

Verizon is offering $10,000 grantsfor small businesses through its Small Business Digital Ready platform. By registering and completing two activities by December 13, 2024, businesses can apply for the grant. The program also provides free access to online courses, mentorship, and coaching. This initiative, in partnership with Next Street and LISC, focuses on supporting women and minority-owned businesses.
Nonprofits, public entities, and schools can apply for Walmart Spark Good Local Grants, which offer $250–$5,000 to support local community needs. Applications are accepted quarterly, with the next round open from November 1 to December 31, 2024. Eligibility requires a Tax ID, Deed verification, and a Spark Good account.

Protecting Your Business from Physical and Cyber Threats: A Conversation with CISA. This 60-minute event will take place at the Kent Library on October 30th and will feature special guests from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Hagerty Consulting and the Washington Department of Commerce are excited to offer a no-cost grant writing support program is available for community-based organizations, local government agencies, ports, housing authorities, tribes, businesses, and other entities eligible for Federal funds.
The program helps prepare and submit grant applications aimed at supporting Washington's clean electricity and greenhouse gas reduction goals while promoting equity, innovation, economic growth, and job creation.
Puget Sound Energy Small Business Energy Assessment
This program helps small businesses boost energy efficiency with assessments and solutions like LED upgrades, water-saving products, and HVAC improvements. Available to PSE customers with small businesses under 10,000 sq ft, it cuts energy costs and improves work environments. Learn more here.
Fleet Decarbonization Accelerator Program
The Fleet Decarbonization Accelerator is a hands-on program designed to help businesses create actionable plans to decarbonize their fleets. Enrollment is now open for the Winter 2025 cohort, with weekly sessions running from January 13th to April 7th.
