NIGHT WORK AT 3RD & RAINIER BEGINS 8/16

Beginning Monday, August 16th, DUIP will be doing sewer utility work at the intersection of S 3rd St and Rainier Ave S. Work will take place in the evening from 7 PM – 5 AM and is anticipated for 3-5 nights. We will be doing this work at night to reduce impacts to the intersection during the day. Work will be noisiest during use of saw cutting and vibratory equipment.

The work area will be split into two phases. Lane reductions will be in place with limited through traffic at the intersection until work is done. Avoid the intersection if possible, at night. A construction detour route to S 3rd St will be maintained from Rainier Ave S to S 3rd Pl and Shattuck Ave S. Please follow posted signage.

Please follow posted signs and directions from flaggers for safe access.

Following sewer utility work, we will return to the intersection during the day and complete installation of the box culvert before final paving and restoration. More information and notice will follow prior to work returning.
