Downtown Construction: Update on downtown Renton intersection work
City of Renton sent this bulletin at 04/23/2021 05:24 PM CDTHi everyone,
Sidewalk work on S 3rd St at Williams Ave S and Wells Ave S
We are planning to begin installing new sidewalks at the corners of the new intersections on S 3rd St at Williams Ave S and Wells Ave S. We will coordinate with you directly to minimize impacts if the sidewalk in front of your business will be replaced. Access to businesses will be maintained as best as possible but may be temporarily impacted. We plan on detouring people walking into adjacent curbside parking while we are actively working on sidewalks. Through traffic on S 3rd St will be maintained as a single-lane of traffic as crews begin sidewalk work and plan for future streetscape and signal work.
Utility work on S 2nd St between Main Ave S and Burnett Ave S
We are continuing sewer and water work on S 2nd St. Through traffic on S 2nd St will continue to be reduced to a single-lane to give crews the space they need to work on underground utilities.
Stormwater Utility Work on Shattuck Ave S at 4th Pl
As part of our work to improve underground utilities in the downtown area, we began utility work on Shattuck Ave S at S 4th Pl and move north along Shattuck to 2nd St. Shattuck Ave S will be reduced to one lane both directions between S 4th Pl and S 3rd St. Please follow posted signs and directions from flaggers for safe access.
We plan to maintain through traffic on Shattuck Ave S. This shifts gears from the initial sewer work planned on S 3rd St. Dewatering plans are still being finalized, which is important prior to beginning deep sewer work.
Mill Ave S between Bronson Way S and Houser Way S
We will continue utility work on Mill Ave S between Bronson Way S and Houser Way S. Mills Ave S is reduced to one lane both directions between S 3rd St and Bronson Way S. Please follow posted signs and directions from flagger for safe access.
