Last Recycle Event of the Year

Cedar Hills

Did you know that the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill in Maple Valley is the only remaining landfill in King County? Once it reaches its capacity and closes, King County will have to find an out-of-county landfill that will be more costly for the region's residents. Help extend the life of Cedar Hills Regional Landfill by preventing waste in addition to recycling and composting!

Day of Service and Remembrance

Day of Service

The National Day of Service and Remembrance is meant to encourage all of us to volunteer and perform good deeds in observance of the anniversary of September 11. This year, on Saturday, September 10 from 9am-12pm, Renton will partner with local agencies to provide volunteer opportunities for the community such as beautifying City and County parks and marking storm drains to reduce pollution in the Puget Sound. A picnic will follow at Liberty Park from 12pm - 1pm with entertainment. More info is available here. For a list of projects and to volunteer, contact Teresa Nishi at tnishi@rentonwa.gov or 425-430-6694.
