Answers to common questions, distance learning feature

We're listening! Answers to your commonly asked questions on how distance learning will work for the 2020-2021 SY.

Q. My student can't access a PGCPS email account. What should I do?

A. Visit idm.pgcps.org and follow the steps to reset the password. New students and those unable to change passwords online should contact their school’s password administrator. View a list of password administrators by school here

Q. When will I be able to pick up an iPad or Chromebook and/or other supplies for my child to use for learning at home?

A. Chromebooks, iPads, wifi hotspots, textbooks and other supplies are being distributed by schools this week. Please look for correspondence from your school or check the school website for your assigned pickup day and time. If you miss a distribution, please contact your school directly to make arrangements.

Q. Are immunizations required during distance learning?

A. Yes! Immunizations are still required during distance learning, and during a pandemic are essential in maintaining overall health. Students must meet state immunization requirements within 20 calendar days of enrollment (Sept. 21).

Q. What is the attendance policy during distance learning?

A. Although school will look different this fall, attendance remains a priority. If students are unable to attend scheduled classes, parents must communicate the reason via email to the student's classroom teacher. See our Final Reopening Plan for complete attendance policy.
