Reopen PGCPS Plan Available Online


Summary and full versions of reopening plans for Prince George’s County Public Schools are now available online.

The PGCPS Reopening Plan Summary provides an overview of state requirements, distance learning schedules, resources and supports in addition to key dates, next steps and other considerations. The full Reopening Plan includes comprehensive details on the instructional program, school facilities, student activities, employee services and equity issues. The document will be updated weekly through Friday, Aug. 14, at which time it will be submitted to the Maryland State Department of Education.

July 31: Distance Learning Supplies Reimbursement Deadline

All Unit I members are eligible to submit reimbursement requests (with proper documentation) up to $100. To receive reimbursement, please review the following guidelines:

  • Receipts should be submitted through iExpense by Friday, July 31.
  • Multiple receipts or an individual receipt up to $100 may be submitted only once by each teacher.
  • Employees may view the iExpense training video and other guidance at the following link:

Approved reimbursements will be processed within 10 business days and funds will be
deposited into the employee’s primary direct deposit account. An email notification will be sent to
eligible employees when payment is made.

Masks On, Maryland: PGCPS Operating Norms

Gov. Hogan has announced a new statewide order that face coverings are required in the public spaces of all businesses and outdoor public areas whenever it is not possible to maintain physical distancing, effective July 31 at 5 p.m.

PGCPS Operating Norms

  • All employees and visitors will be required to wear a face mask/covering while on site; if you do not have one, it will be provided to you. Employees should consult with their immediate supervisor.
  • Staff must comply with group size limitations (Stage 2 is 50 persons); virtual meetings are highly encouraged. In-person meetings will comply with social distancing expectations.
  • Handwashing is required every 2 hours.
