Distance Learning Highlights

PGCPS will continue learning from home through May 15 to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). As we move forward in this new phase of distance learning, remember we are in this together! CEO to Host Student, Family Tele Town Halls

CEO Dr. Monica Goldson will host telephone town hall events to hear from and offer updates to students and community. A student town hall on Tuesday, April 21 will be hosted with Student Member of the Board of Education Joshua Omolola. Students may dial in directly at 833-738-0062. On Wednesday, April 29, parents and community are invited to participate in a town hall. Both events will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Tune In! TV Lessons for PreK-5 Students!

Student Meal Pick-Ups Now Twice Weekly

Meal pick-up will occur twice a week between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Drive-up WiFi at Select Schools

Need Internet access for your child to complete schoolwork or homework? Drive-up wifi access is available. Anyone with a PGCPS email account can log on from the school parking lot or within close proximity to the school.

Plug In: 24/7 Digital Library!

The Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is available 24/7 online with PGCMLS Digital Suite, Creative Suite, and more than 85 online resources including eBooks, audiobooks, music, movies, TV, and educational resources. Students have access to PGCMLS resources using their 9-digit student ID number.

School Registrations for 2020-21 School Year

Due to COVID-19 stay-at-home orders and continued school building closures, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration is postponed until students, staff, and the community can safely return to buildings. We will continue to monitor the status of schools and provide updates accordingly. Transitional and lottery program registration is also on hold.

Deadline for Q3 Grade Appeals Extended

The deadline for third quarter grade change appeals has been extended. Parents/guardians wishing to appeal a first-quarter report card grade must submit the appropriate form and supporting documents by Thursday, April 30.

Parks and Rec Grab-n-Go Meals for Students

The Department of Parks and Recreation is offering free grab-and-go meals Monday through Friday from noon to 2 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis for children under the age of 18. On Fridays, young people will be able to take three bags for food for the weekend. This program is open all children. Locations: Marlow Heights Community Center, Oakcrest Community Center in Capitol Heights and Glenarden Community Center.

Families new to Comcast Internet Essentials may be eligible for two months of free Internet service if they live in an area where the service is available, qualify for public assistance and have not subscribed to Comcast Internet within the last 90 days. Eligible high school seniors may apply for a Landover Educational Athletic Recreational Nonprofit (LEARN) college scholarship, supporting youth residing in the vicinity of FedEx Field stadium. Applications are due by Saturday, April 25. Apply
