New School Profile Pages!

Take a deeper dive into data on attendance, demographics, test scores and more on our new School Profile Pages. Each profile includes a link to the Data Dashboard, which shows how your child’s school is doing based on various measures. Starting Monday, March 9, the profiles will feature School Performance Plans that outline goals and an action plan for improvement. Check them out!

Students at Gladys Noon Spellman and Tulip Grove Elementary Schools acknowledged the many contributions of African Americans by staging living "blacks in wax" museums!

Northwestern High School art students brought the African American family reunion experience to life through sight, taste, touch and sound.

Eleanor Roosevelt High School's nationally-acclaimed step squad Dem Raider Boyz combined step and speech for a dynamic and history-filled presentation!

In Annapolis, student pages spent time reflecting on history in the making as the first-ever African American and woman ascended to Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates.


Middle School PSAT Parent Nights

All 8th grade students were given the PSAT 8/9 assessment in December. Attend an info session to learn how to read your student's PSAT 8/9 score report to identify strengths and weaknesses. Upcoming dates: Tuesday, March 3, Greenbelt Middle School; Wednesday, March 11, Ernest Everett Just Middle School; and Thursday, March 12, Stephen Decatur Middle School. All sessions will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pre-K students at Frances Fuchs Early Childhood Center honored the legacy of Katherine Johnson, famed NASA mathematician and "hidden figure" who passed this week at 101 years old.

College Workshop at University of Maryland

Estudios Universitarios helps students in grades 6-12 and their families learn about the college application process and financial aid. Attendees will also meet students at the University of Maryland. The event, presented in English and Spanish, also features bilingual campus tours. 


Summer Youth Employment Program

The deadline to apply for the Youth @Work /Summer Youth Enrichment Program is Friday, Feb. 28. Announcements about summer 2020 placements will be made on or before Friday, May 1. For more information, contact SYEP@co.pg.md.us. 


2020-21 School Calendar Available


The 2020-21 school calendar includes state-mandated holidays for all school districts, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day and days around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. As community polling sites, schools must also be closed for election days.

Our goal is to provide students with a strong foundation of technical knowledge and workplace skills in preparation for college and careers. Please complete the CTE Survey by Friday, March 6.
