2020-21 School Calendar Available


The 2020-21 school calendar includes state-mandated holidays for all school districts, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day and days around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. As community polling sites, schools must also be closed for election days.

Nominate an outstanding educator for the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award! Candidates must be in their sixth year of teaching and plan to remain in the classroom during the 2020-21 school year. The submission deadline is Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m.

College Workshop at University of Maryland

On Saturday, March 7, students in grades 6-12 and their families can learn about the admissions process, how to prepare for applications, financial aid, and the overall college experience. This annual college preparation workshop is presented in Spanish and English.


State Superintendent Search: Community Forums

The Maryland State Board of Education will host regional forums to gather public input regarding the next State Superintendent. The Prince George's County forums will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Laurel High School at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
