A celebration was in order this past weekend for newly-renovated Glenarden Woods Elementary SchoolThe school's ribbon-cutting ceremony was a "homecoming" for students and staff -- past and present -- along with dignitaries and community members. Renovations to the school meet LEED gold environmental standards in a state-of-the-art building.

Register for 2nd Annual Family Institute Conference

It's not too late to register for Saturday's 2nd Annual Family Institute Conference! This FREE event takes place at Northwestern High School from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This year's theme is Ignite "SPARKS” for Student Success. Educator/best-selling author Ron Clark, founder of The Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, will give the keynote address.

PGCPS is working to improve communication using Let's Talk! Share Your Input on the 2018-19 School Calendar

The PGCPS Calendar Committee is working to develop a calendar that fits within Governor Hogan's mandated start time (post-Labor Day) and last day for students (June 15) for Maryland public schools. Please click here to open the community survey. Be sure to click on the two links at the top of the survey to view both versions of the school calendar before submitting your input.

Information on Graduation Audit Available Online

In June, CEO Dr. Kevin M. Maxwell and Prince George’s County Board of Education members requested an audit by the Maryland State Department of Education of high school graduation rates throughout Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). Results of the audit were released last week. Learn strategies for keeping children safe and how to recognize the sometimes subtle signs of child abuse and neglect. Inside PGCPS Football with PG 13

Monday Night Football, PGCPS-style: Watch PG 13, a series about PGCPS high school football that takes you inside locker rooms and classrooms.
