PGCPS Launches New Customer Service Campaign

Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) aims to be at your service. As part of National Customer Service Week, the school system rolled out a new initiative -- "Transforming Our Culture Through Superior Customer Service" -- with the goal of better serving students, families, staff and communities.

Preparation for last week's launch included pilot trainings, the development of a “Secret Shopper” component, and feedback/input sessions with more than 2,000 employees over the past several months. All employees will receive customer service training.


2016 Family Institute Conference

Save the Date: Annual Family Institute Conference, Nov. 18

The 2nd Annual Family Institute Conference will be held Saturday, November 18 at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville. The event features free learning sessions designed to support students success for families, students, staff and community members. Free childcare is available for families who pre-register. Breakfast and snacks will be provided. The event will be held 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more details, visit family.institute@pgcps.org.


Page Program

Apply Now for the Maryland Student Page Program

Each year, 105 students and 36 alternates are selected by the state's local school systems to participate in the Maryland General Assembly Student Page Program. Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) is allocated 14 pages and four alternates.

Student pages work for two non-consecutive weeks at either the House of Delegates or the Senate in Annapolis. High school seniors ages 16 and up who reside in Maryland may apply. For details, visit the Page Program website. The application deadline is Friday, October 20.

Inside PGCPS Football with PG 13

Monday Night Football, PGCPS-style: Watch PG 13, a series about PGCPS high school football that takes you inside locker rooms and classrooms. This season will air Mondays at 7 p.m. All 13 episodes will be broadcast on PGCPS social media channels, pgcps.org and PGCPS-TV 96 (Comcast) and 38 (Verizon).

Free College Workshop: Estudios Universitarios

October 21 • 9 a.m. - noon • University of Maryland Stamp Student Union

Spanish-speaking middle and high school students and families are encouraged to attend Estudios Universitarios, a free college and career readiness workshop. The event will include a bilingual college fair, community agency fair, campus tours and information about the Maryland Dream Act. Sign up for the event here.
