See what we’ve been up to at TriMet!
Heads up: We’re adjusting schedules on several bus lines starting Sunday, March 1. Among the changes, buses will arrive less often on four Frequent Service lines at times when fewer people are riding.

The Portland Timbers’ 2026 season is officially underway! TriMet is the best way to get to Providence Park and cheer on the home team. We’re once again partnering with the Timbers and Thorns this year, so if you have a ticket, you can ride TriMet to and from the match — for free. The Thorns kick off their season in March.

The 82nd Avenue Transit Project will bring TriMet FX® service to one of the Portland area’s busiest corridors. After careful consideration, General Manager Sam Desue Jr. has directed project staff to plan for 7 miles of Business Access & Transit lanes in each direction, to reduce travel times and improve reliability for bus riders. However, this will be dependent on project partners raising more funding for the project by July, as the BAT lanes increase overall cost.
We received well over 8,000 survey responses and comments last month about our draft service proposals to bring service in line with operating revenue. Now, we’re using the feedback to develop final proposals that will be shared publicly on March 11 at trimet.org/servicecuts.
While service cuts are always our last resort, TriMet must reduce service now to avoid more severe cuts down the road. The TriMet Board of Directors will hold a special listening session on the final proposals on March 18 and another public forum on March 25, before it votes on the service changes that will take effect in August. Learn more about the meetings at trimet.org/meetings/board.
Washington Park MAX Station is the coolest station on TriMet’s system. That’s a fact: Because of its underground location, the Washington Park MAX Station stays a cool 50 to 55 degrees, all year round. Here’s some more cool facts about this unique station:
- It’s the deepest underground transit station in North America, at 260 feet below ground, as well as the only underground station on our 60-mile MAX system.
- It’s a gateway to some of our region’s most beloved treasures, including the Oregon Zoo, the International Rose Test Garden, the Portland Japanese Garden and more.
- Educational and artistic displays along the walls showcase Oregon’s geological history, fossil record and more, including core samples from the drilling of the Robertson Tunnel.
We recently wrapped up safety inspections of the Robertson Tunnel. These regular inspections help keep the tunnel and station in tip-top shape. Learn more here!
