🚌 Service Changes 🚌

Beginning Sunday, Nov. 30, a handful of lines will have buses arriving less often in the evening when ridership is low. These reductions are part of our ongoing work to bring service levels in line with funding and make our system more efficient.

We’re also making schedule adjustments to keep buses on time.

Bus Service Adjustments

FX2-Division Buses will arrive every 24-35 minutes after 7 p.m., all days.

35-Macadam/Greeley Buses will arrive once an hour after 9 p.m., all days. Service on S. Riverside Dr. after 9 p.m. will be suspended, all days.

52-Farmington/185th Buses will arrive once an hour after 9 p.m. on weekdays.

77-Broadway/Halsey Buses will arrive once an hour after 9 p.m. on weekdays.

81-Kane/257th Buses will arrive once an hour after 9 p.m. on weekdays.

Route Changes

Starting Sunday, November 30, Southwest Campus Drive on the OHSU Marquam Hill campus will reopen.

These buses will resume serving stops on Southwest Campus Drive:

8-Jackson Park/NE 15th
43-Taylors Ferry/Marquam Hill
56-Scholls Ferry/Marquam Hill

Schedule Adjustments

Lines 45, 70, 71, 72, 287, 288 will have schedule adjustments to keep buses on time.

📋 Survey Response Update 📋

Several people talking at a service cuts open house

We're facing a $300 million gap between our annual expenses and revenues by July 1, 2028. While cutting service is the last thing we want to do, we have to bring service in line with revenue.

Your feedback is helping shape those tough decisions.

Nearly 5,000 people across the Portland metro area told us what matters most for the future of TriMet service through surveys and open houses.

People told us to start with:

  • Reducing or eliminating service where lines are close together
  • Shortening the MAX Green Line to run between Clackamas Town Center and Gateway
  • Stopping funding support to other transit agencies.

And the options that earned the largest number of “do this last” responses were:

  • Reducing how often MAX trains arrive
  • Reducing how often buses arrive on Frequent Service lines
  • Reducing or eliminating some bus service after 8 p.m.
  • Reducing or eliminating some bus service on weekends.

What’s next?

We’ll share specific service cut proposals in January, and we’ll ask for more feedback then. Your voice matters as we build a service plan that helps keep our community moving.

Stay up to date on service cuts
