Using your concert ticket to ride

Summer concerts return to Providence Park this Saturday! If you’re heading to see Post Malone with Jelly Roll, your concert ticket doubles as fare on all TriMet buses and trains.

As many as 30,000 fans are expected to pack the stadium for the show! Don’t let the stress of parking spoil your evening. Save a few bucks, sit back, relax and let TriMet do the driving! (And remember, tickets to Timbers and Thorns matches also double as fare on TriMet!)

Getting blues fans to the show

Here’s another way to beat the traffic blues — take transit to the Waterfront Blues Festival, July 4-5! In addition to a stellar lineup of blues, soul and funk, the Waterfront Blues Festival puts on the biggest Fourth of July fireworks display in the region. Tilikum Crossing is a popular viewing spot!

Keeping riders moving at NE 82nd Ave MAX Station

We’ve started a major renovation of one of the oldest and busiest stations, but you can still catch MAX at the NE 82nd Ave Station. How is that possible?

We installed a temporary platform and stairway for riders to use while the MAX station is under construction. Check out this video to see what’s changed. Construction will continue through the end of the year.

Making elevators more secure

We’ve installed new access-control devices on elevators at our NE 60th Ave and NE 82nd Ave MAX stations. These elevators, along with the one at the Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave, are now only accessible to riders with a valid fare.

Simply tap your Hop card, contactless bankcard or mobile wallet or scan the QR code on your bus ticket to call the elevator. You won’t be charged for elevator access. Remember to also tap the Hop reader on the platform!

Adopting a budget for the year ahead

Happy New Year — almost! TriMet’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. That means we’re about to enter fiscal year 2026. Late last month, the TriMet Board of Directors adopted a budget for the upcoming fiscal year that includes $954.4 million in operating and capital improvement costs.

Did you know? Replacing our oldest trains

TriMet is continuing to roll out sparkling new MAX Type 6 trains! As we introduce our next-generation light rail vehicles, however, we’re saying goodbye to the OGs — our Type 1 trains — some of which have been in service since 1986! These old trains, now at the end of their useful service life, must go to make room for the new

We’re preserving one of these icons at the Oregon Electric Railway Museum in Brooks, near Salem — and we’re holding a contest for riders who want to say goodbye. Enter by Friday for a chance to win exclusive access to a farewell party for our Type 1 before it departs!

Get involved! Upcoming meetings

The TriMet Board of Directors will hold its next regular business meeting on Wednesday, July 23.

The Committee on Accessible Transportation meets virtually the third Wednesday of each month from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
