💙 Type 6 is Just Our Type 💙

MAX Type 6 trains are in TEST mode. 🎮

You might have seen the the new MAX trains on the system soon, but they’re not in service just yet.

We've begun testing vehicles 603 and 605. This includes simulating service to make sure everything works, from the doors to the signs, plus the software and other systems.

Here’s what to expect during testing:

1. The trains will pull up to MAX stations. The operators will make announcements stating the train is not in service. Then, the trains’ doors will open and close.

2. There will be barriers obstructing the doorways to prevent riders from boarding. Please don’t attempt to hop on.

3. Trains will stay at the station momentarily while the operators test the doors, then the train will depart.

4. Some trains’ signs will indicate a destination. This is also for testing purposes, even though the train isn’t in service.

5. The Type 6 test trains will be running on all MAX lines during regular service hours. All other MAX trains will run on their regular schedules.

We’re really excited to finally be in the testing phase, and we can’t wait for you to ride these trains! We hope to have them running on the system during the summer.
