Service Alert: Extreme Weather Update

Good afternoon, Reminder: All MAX service is suspended until further notice due to impacts from the extreme weather. MAX Power outages, downed trees and dangerous, icy conditions have impacted our ability to safely provide MAX service at this time. We are providing shuttle buses where possible, but riders should expect long delays and use regular bus service or other transportation. Those who can avoid traveling at this time should do so. Continue checking trimet.org/alerts for the latest information.. Bus service Several roads are closed due to downed trees, power lines or unsafe conditions. Road closures, including Highway 26 and SW Burnside, have specifically impacted bus service between the west side and Downtown Portland. That is leading to longer trips for shuttle buses and regular service buses around the West Hills. As of 4:30 p.m. several other bus lines have been detoured throughout our service district Service on Line 32-Oatfield remains suspended. Riders should check trimet.org/alerts before they head out, dress warmly and expect delays. Again, we encourage people to avoid travel if at all possible. Buses are chained, limiting their speed to 25 mph. This will mean slower service as we prioritize the safety of riders, our employees and other motorists. Because of road conditionsTransitTracker can't predict accurate arrival times and may show miles-away instead so Riders can see where buses are in real-time on the map at trimet.org. For the latest on service information, please visit trimet.org/alerts. LIFT paratransit service Due to the weather and road conditions, LIFT is providing medically necessary trips only. Transportation to warming shelters TriMet will not turn away anyone traveling to or from a warming shelter who is unable to pay fare until further notice. We ask those folks to let the bus operator know that they are heading to or from a warming shelter.
