August 2023 /// I think fake fall just started?! 🙌
🍂🍂🍂
🚊 Type 1 is Going Away... Soon-ish 🚊
We'll be gradually phasing out our Type 1 MAX trains to make room for the new Type 6 trains. Watch our most popular Instagram video ever!
We don't have an *official* date for Type 1's final ride, but we'll keep you in the loop in the coming months! If you spot a Type 1 train out in the wild, be sure to tag us (@trimet) so we can see your #GoodbyeType1 post! 😢
🚈 Speaking of Trains... 🚈
Have you ever wondered which "type" of MAX train you're looking at? Just look at the first digit of the train number! Watch the full video here.
💅 LIFT Gets Glam 💅
We recently teamed up with the North Pole Studio to create some amazing wraps for LIFT — our shared-ride service for people who are unable to use regular buses and trains due to a disability or disabling health condition.
North Pole Studio supports careers in the arts, and exists to increase opportunities for artists with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities to thrive as active members of the arts community.
 Art on the LIFT bus:
We have two more LIFT buses with new art rolling out — stay tuned to our socials to see them soon!
🧑🏽💻 New Digital Signs 📊
Have you seen our new digital signs around the system? They'll be added to more bus stops and MAX stations to make it easier for you to find arrival times!
We're aiming to complete the digital sign installations by the end of the year. 🙌
🗺️ Southeast Map Giveaway 🗺️
As a Riders Club member, we know you explore the city on transit all the time! Here's a fun map showing some of our favorite locations in Southeast Portland that you can visit if you haven't already.
We have four more neighborhood maps coming out soon, but we wanted to share this one with our Riders Club members first!
GIVEAWAY: Enter to win a 19x13 landscape print of this map. We'll choose five winners.
You can also purchase a print.
⚽️ Timbers x Thorns x TriMet 2024 🥅
Take TriMet to Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns FC games in 2024! Your game ticket will serve as a ticket to ride buses and MAX to the stadium!
How does this work? For the 2024 season, fans will be able to show their match day ticket as proof of fare to ride TriMet buses and MAX trains to and from Providence Park starting three hours before a match through three hours after it ends.
👯♂️ Take Transit Out to Events 👋
Summer's winding down, but you can take transit all year long to all your favorite places and local events! Share moments of you taking transit and tag us @trimet so we can repost :)
📸 Photo of the Month 📸

Here's one of the first MAX cars to arrive, in 1984.
Light rail service between Downtown Portland and Gresham began two years later.
K I'm going to go find a pumpkin spice latte now. ☕️ 👀
