MAX Blue, Green and Red lines will be disrupted April 16–May 6

MAX Blue, Green and Red line trains will be disrupted Sunday, April 16, through Saturday, May 6, for track tie-in work near the Gateway Transit Center.

Alternate service

  • Shuttle buses will be running about every 5-7 minutes.
  • MAX Green Line will only run between Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center, with shuttle buses serving the closed stations between Gateway Transit Center and the NE 7th Avenue Station. There will be no Green Line service west of Gateway Transit Center.

Use MAX Orange/Yellow or Blue lines for trips west of the NE 7th Avenue Station.

  • MAX Red Line will only run between Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport, with shuttle buses serving the closed stations between Gateway Transit Center and the NE 7th Avenue Station. There will be no Red Line service west of Gateway Transit Center. Use MAX Blue Line for trips between NE 7th Ave and Beaverton during the disruption.
  • We suggest planning your trip in advance. Use our trip-planning tools to ensure you reach your destination the fastest, whether by bus, MAX or shuttle bus. Bus lines running near the disruption may have more riders than normal. Please consider using other bus service, walking or riding a bike during this time.
  • We will have staff on hand during the busiest times of the day to help direct and assist you.

Improvements to increase MAX service and reliability

This work is a part of A Better Red, which extends MAX Red Line west to serve 10 more stations and improves schedule reliability for the entire MAX system.

We’re also using this time to perform other maintenance work, including replacing rail and ties near the Hollywood Transit Center.
