Hello! Here’s a summary of our equity and inclusion news at TriMet!
TriMet must temporarily reduce service levels further due to the largest bus operator shortage in our agency’s history.
Starting Sept. 18, 2022, ten bus lines will have service reduced, including two that will have service canceled. Those lines have low ridership or less demand than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Two other lines will have less service added in the fall than previously planned.
We’d much rather be expanding service than cutting it, but we need help. Please spread the word about our open bus driver jobs. New bus operators earn $25.84 an hour to start and are eligible for a $7,500 hiring bonus. Learn more at trimet.org/drive
Come aboard! Last week, TriMet introduced a faster path for new hires to qualify for MAX training right after the 7-week bus operator training!
We’re also hiring mechanics, with a starting wage of $37.02/hour, plus great benefits. Apply online!
