Hello! Here’s a summary of our equity and inclusion news at TriMet!
We’re reevaluating our bus service and whether it is best serving our community. We want to hear from you!
This expanded version of our Title VI survey includes questions about service, safety and civil rights. We conduct this survey every three years, and your feedback is very important. Click here to weigh in!
As part of our Reimagining Public Safety efforts, we're seeking proposals for community-based mini trainings for our front-line staff and system partners. This work will enable us to continue making our transit system safer and more welcoming for all.
Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on March 25. Learn more online.
TriMet is reassessing the boundaries of the seven districts that make up our service area. This is required by the Oregon Secretary of State to balance those districts by population after each federal census. A TriMet Board member appointed by Oregon’s Governor lives in and represents each district.
We want your feedback on adjustments to the districts. Take a look at the three proposed district maps and let us know what you think.
Heads up: An eight-day disruption is planned for MAX Red Line from April 2-9. Shuttle buses will run on the Red Line’s schedule and will replace MAX service between Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport. The work is part of the A Better Red project.
Riders will want to visit TriMet.org to plan trips in advance.
With many changes regarding state mask mandates, the Transportation Security Administration mask mandate for public transportation is still in place through March 18. We are watching this closely and will share any updates as we have them. Learn more online.
There are a lot of great reasons to drive for TriMet: A $2,500 hiring bonus, a starting wage of $21.84 per hour and great benefits, and new bus operators can choose between full-time or part-time work on day one!
This is a union position, and new operators get paid training and guaranteed pay increases every four months until the top rate of pay ($32.91) is reached at 35 months. That’s over $68,000 annually after three years when you drive for us. Click here to apply!
Division Transit Project will make it easier to travel between Downtown Portland and Gresham. It's also remaking Division Street as a safer road for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
New center medians are preventing left turns in dangerous locations and protected intersections create barriers between people crossing the street and autos. See how it’s making Division Street safer.
Our partnership with Oregon Health Authority has already provided over 46,000 transit fares for those facing challenges getting to and from COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
Community partners and service providers: Please visit trimet.org/transitvax to order transit passes to help community members reach vaccine clinics. If you have additional questions, please email us at ticketsoha@trimet.org or give us a call at 503-962-2150.
